Trekking and Hiking in Chopta Valley

Chopta is well known destination in Uttarakhand Himalayas and when we talk about Himalayas then it means you have to climb high to reach to certain points and those points have the significance in Himalayan myths. Chopta Valley has three such points with history and many untouched points to explore. Chopta is famous for its Temple – The 3rd of Panch Kedar- Shree Tungnath Temple which is reachable by walking and this trek route is of 3.5 Km.Further the most top summit is just 1 km ahead of Tungnath Temple and this point is named as famous Chandershila Peak. The Trek Route is mild till Tungnath Temple. The Trek route of 3.5 Km will take you to height of 3690 Meter (12106 ft) from sea Level. The trek is maintained by PWD 6-7 ft wide local stone is used as the floor of the trail and easy to walk , on the way scenic beauty of the valley will attract you and force you to take snaps , Bugyals, Beautiful Forest, snow caped Himalyan Ranges, Himalayan Birds, Monal state bird of Uttarakhand can be seen with snow partridges  and the temple is the ultimate peace point for Devotees of Lord Shiva, The Surroundings are absolutely amazing and then further 1 Km of trek which is little tuff trek not like the trek till Tungnath Temple , This one is  steep and 1 km up the height  is 4000 mtr (13000 ft) from sea level and it has ultimate view of 360 degree of  Himalayan Ranges, Chandershila is also known as Moon Rock a small temple is there and the place has myths behind it as why it is called Chandershila.The Third famous Point in Chopta Valley is Deoriatal which has 2.5 km trek to reach at a divine place which is full of natural beauty a lake at a height of 2438 Mtr (7999 ft )from sea Level, This trek starts from its Base Saari Village , again very good trail and worth place to visit a natural lake at such height and it is quite big lake surrounded by the Rhododendrons, pine  and oak trees .
