Tungnath –Trek

Tungnath Temple is the destination for the Devotees of Lord Shiv - Tungnath is the third of Panch Kedar.  Tung means – Arms  and Nath is Shiv - The temple was built by Katyuri Dynasty in 8th Century  (approx.  1000 years back) .  Devotees worship the Arms Lord Shiv in Tungnath Temple .

According to myth Pandavas came here in search of blessing of Lord Shiva they were extremely in pain and guilt of killing Borthers and Brahmins during Mahbharat .To come out of this guilt and sin they worshiped Mahadev  here and freed themselves from this guilt.

The Trek to Tungnath is full of natural glimpses. During April- May the valley and the route is pinkish because of Rhododendron Forest, it is a flower whose Local name is Buransh and it is pink in colour . Green Meadows – Bugyals  and lots to hold before your eyes.
